HOT TAPPING PIPELINE REPAIR KIT PRK-150

This hot tapping equipment is designed by JSC "Kievgas" for repair work on in-service pipelines without interruption of product (gas, water and so on) supplies. The similar foreign hot tapping equipment has high cost and insufficient adaptation to the pipes produced in the former Soviet Union. PRK-150 was satisfactorily tested for repair of gas pipelines with diameter 150 mm. There are relevant patents and permits for works on the territory of Ukraine

APPLICATION AREA OF THE EQUIPMENT:

  • New connections to the existing pipelines under pressure;

  • Insertions of devices (temperature sensors, flow meters and other devices) into the flow stream;

  • Shutdown of pipelines under pressure;

  • Bridging of disconnected part of a pipeline with a bypass line under pressure.

 

BASIC EQUIPMENT PERFORMANCE ALLOWS WORK AT THE FOLLOWING PARAMETERS:

  • Pressure up to 0.6 МPа at temperature up to 60 °С;

  • The range of pipeline diameters for hot tapping - from ДN 15 to ДN 300;

  • The range of pipeline diameters for shutdown – ДN 50 tо ДN 300.

 

THE EQUIPMENT ALLOWS FOR TAPS TO BE MADE ON PIPELINES AND TANKS TRANSPORTING SUCH PRODUCTS AS:

  • Natural gas;

  • Crude oil;

  • Water;

  • Light oil;

  • Various chemical substances and gases;

  • compressed air and so on.

 

PIPELINE MATERIAL:

Steel, stainless steel, cast iron, polyethylene, asbestos cement, concrete and others.

 

HOT TAPPING DIRECTION:

Horisontal, vertical or at any angle about the pipe. In some cases it is possible the bottom-up hot tapping.

 

PRK-150 BENEFITS:

  • Product supply by the pipeline does not interrupt and the pressure is kept at the working level;

  • It is possible to shut down pipeline section in the place where no line plugging fittings or they are not sealed;

  • Reliable, economical and effective hot tapping and shutdown of pipelines, disconnection of pipeline sections for any type of work on them;

  • No cost for product supply interruption;

  • No cost for disposal or collection of product from pipeline sections shutted down during any type of work;

  • No gas releised to the atmosphere.

 

ADVANTAGES OVER THE SIMILAR EQUIPMENT:

1. The product comes into a bypass line directly through the plugging head;

2. Reliable hot tapping and shutdown of pipeline sections with the broken geometry (deviation from the circle shape) and adaptation to the pipes produced in the former Soviet Union;

3. Efficient hot tapping and shutdown of seam pipelines;

4. Equipment cost is lower then cost of similar equipment (Ravetti, T.D. Williamson).

 

PERSPECTIVE DIRECTIONS OF EQUIPMENT DESIGN:

  • Design of such equipment for main pipelines of the transmission system;

  • Production and testing of prototypes, finalization of technical solutions, receiving of patents and permits.
